I headed up north this weekend. Like Peter I also stopped near dusk at Buena Vista Grasslands on Friday evening and also had not much of anything, the highlight I suppose was over 100 sandhill cranes along one of the roads. But thought Iâ??d mention I did try to check out some spots today along HWY 8 on (I think) Lincoln Co. forest land and had my first of fall PINE SISKINS, a noisy flock of about 20 along with a swamp sparrow. I tried to do some hiking today in Taylor/Lincoln Cos. but decided to cut it short after seeing 10 pickups with dogs (bear hunters I assume?) in the back along the road I was on (that and the weather). However, I also thought Iâ??d mention that it looks like eBird has revamped its â??View and Explore Dataâ?? function. Itâ??s down for maintenance right now, but I tried it this weekend and itâ??s pretty neat. Instead of having to pick North America, or a particular state to view records/range maps, itâ??s now integrated. Not sure if they changed anything else but worth a look when you have the chance. -Mike Duchek, Waukesha, Waukesha Co. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
