Harlequin Duck  1     Probably an adult female, a bit smaller than the Black 
Scoter it was with, dark brown back and head lighter brown flanks and neck, 
small stubby grayish bill, short necked, round head, small round white cheek 
spot was obvious as well as white markings in front of the eye and the base of 
the bill, no white marking on wings, compact looking duck, small stubby bill, 
face pattern, small white cheek spot and size of bird eliminate Surf Scoter.
