Thanks Karen. I found them a few times years ago on the College Ave side of the
airport on our May Count. May have been nesting birds. Harder to view this area
now with post 911 security. My other other county sighting was a fall migrant
at the Coast Guard Impoundment.

Just a reminder that Upland Sandpipers have been known to be seen around
the airfields of Mitchell International Airport. I've been checking but
have not seen any as of yet.
In the past I have seen them in airfield surrounded by Layton Ave.,
Whitnall Ave. and Brust St. Also the area seen from the aircraft viewing
area off of Layton has been known to host these birds during migration.
