At 6:20 this evening, right after I pulled into the driveway and got out of the car, I noticed the erratic flight and pointy wings of a dark-colored bird over the house and knew right away what it was. I also knew it was really late in the season for one, so I grabbed the closest pair of binocs I had (there were two in the car) as quickly as I could as the bird flew back and forth, trending south. The nighthawk was up fairly high, but I could make out a bit of white toward the ends of the wings before it was gone. -- Karen Etter Hale Lake Mills Northwest Jefferson Co. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
