Nolan Pope and I got great looks at a mockingbird, this morning. It was on
Bellbrook Road, which is on the north end of Brooklyn SWA. It was 1/2 mile east
of the north parking area, on the northside of the road.
Our longspur walk didn't produce any Smith's. We did get awesome views of
Lapland's. They were very tame. Had a male, perched on top of corn stalk, just
20 feet away. The small group would only fly a few corn rows over as we walked
and talked.
Back on Bellbrook road we saw another group of 15 longspurs, which a harrier
flushed. Never got good looks at these.
