Beautiful day for a walk along Milwaukee's lakefront! Some highlights: * Marsh Wren in the cattails at the southern end of the Veterans Park lagoon. Didn't sit still long enough for a photo, but obviously a Marsh Wren. New species on my Milwaukee BIGBY list! * Still at least one White-winged Scoter behind the art museum. * Male Northern Shoveler in the Lakeshore State Park lagoon. * Still about 15 Scaups hanging out. * Maybe 25 Ruddy Ducks, including a couple of birds that helped me finally understand why they are called "ruddy" ducks. These ducks were a deep reddish-brown chestnut color. * Very few Red-breasted Meransers. * One American Coot. * One Blue-winged Teal (Veterans Park lagoon). * One Pied-billed Grebe (Veterans Park lagoon).
