Went out looking for Purple Sandpipers today at Milwaukee's North Point (always looking for a new life bird). I struck out on the sandpipers, but did manage some good looks at North Point's resident Harlequin Duck. Took a bunch of photos with my pocket camera. I continue to be impressed by this camera. Its footprint is a little bit larger than a credit card. And it's an inch thick at most. But it has a 20x Leica zoom lens. Pretty handy little birding tool that's small enough that you forget it's in your pocket. By the way, I overheard some birders talking about the Harlequin at North Point today. They were calling it a female. Looked like a male to me. Photo was taken at a family gathering in Salt Lake City: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14463444@N07/6643515399/in/photostream Bernie Sloan Milwaukee #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
