On my walk to work this morning the highlights were hearing one of the
neighborhood Merlins and saw five woodpecker species, dipping on Red-headed and
Pileated  (wondered why the Pileated weren't calling), and this evening
learned that my new bird friendly neighbors saw about 20 Turkey Vultures
yesterday. They roost annually near my home, close to the Merlins. The Merlins
nested last year and they're at it again.
