I stopped late this afternoon in Leola Marsh and despite windy and
cloudy conditions the Short-eared Owls were active when I got there a
little after 4:30. I only saw two but they were very active from
4:30-5:15. I saw two interactions of the pair and also with an owl and a
Northern Harrier. Interestingly, there was a large kite being flown at
the base of Owen's Rock and I have a poor photo of the rock, kite, and
one owl. This was the lowest number of Short-eared Owls I have seen in
any day I have been able to get there for the last two weeks. It
started raining at 6:00.
