I birded from Cadiz Springs State Park in SW Green county up the Pecatonica River to Yellowstone State Park. My first of the year Fox Sparrow was at Cadiz. Waterfowl included Bufflehead, Redhead, Ring-necked, L. Scaup, G-W Teal, and Hooded Merg. Cnty M and Cisserville Rd had the same plus 279 G. White-fronted Geese, Shoveler, Canvasback, and Rudy Ducks. The surprise of the day was in a flooded field on Cnty M west of Woodford. I found 1 Lesser Yellowlegs and 2 Pectoral Sandpipers. The feeders at Yellowstone had several Purple Finch. The lake had Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, Common Mergs, Redhead, Ring-necked, L. Scaup, Canvasback, Gadwall, A. Wigeon, and Hooded Merg. Good birding!
