I birded the lakefront from Kewaunee to Cleveland, south of Manitowoc, this afternoon. Starting in the Kewaunee Harbor there was a STILT SANDPIPER along with two BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS at Father Marquette Park. Neshotah Beach, on the north end of Two Rivers, had two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS north of the breakwall. Just south of the breakwall in Two Rivers there was a single WILLET. The containment in Manitowoc had six RUDDY TURNSTONES and a good number of Dunlin and dowitchers. At the pull off between the carferry dock and the power plant there was a group of 24 Willets. The Hwy. LS and F ponds south of Manitowoc had a nice assemblage of gulls and terns. Mixed in with the Bonaparte's Gulls and Forster's Terns there were at least nine FRANKLIN'S GULLS. There were also four more Willets and five more Black-bellied Plovers. It was nice to see good numbers of shorebirds moving along the lake.
