The male KENTUCKY WARBLER has returned for his 3rd season at the John Muir Hiking/Biking Trails in Walworth Co. The trail system, located on Hwy H, north of Hwy 12, has been re-worked a bit, with some trails being "retired". If you access one of the old trail maps you need to be on the "old" ORANGE trail where it breaks off from the Blue/Black trails, just west of where it intersects with the trail going to the Old Lime Kiln. Frankly, even if you miss this bird, there are tons of other resident species present along the trail to hold your interest: BLUE-HEADED, YELLOW-THR & RED-EYED VIREOS HOODED, CERULEAN, CHESTNUT-SIDED, MOURNING, BLACK-THR GREEN, PINE, & BLUE-WINGED WARBLERS OVENBIRDS, AMERICAN REDSTARTS GR-CRESTED, ACADIAN, ALDER FLYCATCHERS, & E. WOOD PEWEE VEERIES & WOOD THRUSHES Recommend early weekday mornings or *very* early on Sat/Sunday due to the large # of bikers using the system!
