Hi Josh- The very long, relatively thin bill eliminates the juvenile Night-Herons. The neck, which becomes narrower towards the head, points to a bittern. The black stripe in the malar area should eliminate a Least Bittern. I believe your bird is an American Bittern. Photos aren't the greatest but such as it is when you're sinking into a bog mat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wackybadger/9650498784/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/wackybadger/9647261967/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/wackybadger/9647260817/ Thank you.
