All, Again we face the challenge of locating enough volunteers to cover our
area of southern Milwaukee county in the face of sharing the date with
central/northern Milwaukee's count where a number of our birders are
committed on December 17th. We tend to lack enough bodies to cover the
better hotspots along the southern lakefront and around inland wetlands,
and this year is no exception.
So, we put out the request for volunteers again to cover the areas south of
Texas Ave. overlook, Seminary Woods, and the lakefront parks of Sheridan,
Warnimont, Grant and Bender. Rita (Flores) Wiskowski is sharing in the
organizing this year, and the rumor is there'll be hot soups to share at
Casa Flores in South Milwaukee at noon. Let us know if you're interested
in joining the fun.
Thus far, winter waterfowl arrival has been very slow to nil, but WW
Scoters were spotted off of Sheridan yesterday.
