Seems like some WI birders might be interested in this. Jesse Ellis Madison, Dane Co. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Karl Bardon <karl_bardon@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 10:44 PM Subject: [mou-net] California Gull- Duluth/Superior To: MOU-NET@xxxxxxxxxxxxx This morning while birding the Superir Entry from the Wisconsin Point lighthouse a nice group of gulls assembled on the pier next to me including an adult California Gull, an adult Thayer's Gull, an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, a first-cycle Great Black-backed Gull, 149 Ring-billed Gulls, and 302 Herring Gulls, plus 2 Bonaparte's Gulls flying nearby, for a total of 7 species of gulls (an eighth species of gull, a first cycle Glaucous Gull, has also been present here since November 9th but was not seen within this flock this morning). This flock of gulls flushed off the pier, many of which crossed the state line into Minnesota, including the California Gull.
