HI everyone-- Eastern Phoebes, Hermit Thrushes, both kinglets, sapsuckers, Tree Swallows, Yellow-rumped Warblers, and Fox Sparrows were in soggy Estabrook Park, Milwaukee Co., this morning. I also found a pair of Blue-winged Teal swimming among submerged trees, a pair of cocky Red-breasted Mergansers diving in the river, and a pair of Eastern Bluebirds along the bike trail. Flood note: The river is WAY over its banks; not only are low trails submerged, but in places, the river water is rushing down them. If you go, use caution. And wear boots. --Chuck Chuck Hagner Milwaukee Co., WI c_hagner@xxxxxxx Begin forwarded message: > From: do-not-reply@xxxxxxxxx > Subject: eBird Report - Estabrook Park, Apr 14, 2013 > Date: April 14, 2013 12:18:08 PM CDT > To: c_hagner@xxxxxxx > > Estabrook Park, Milwaukee, US-WI > Apr 14, 2013 7:35 AM - 10:55 AM > Protocol: Traveling > 3.25 mile(s) > Comments: Intermittent light rain. > 35 species (+1 other taxa) > > Canada Goose 13 One goose was sitting on nest at south end of island in > lagoon. > Mallard 13 > Blue-winged Teal 2 Swimming among submerged trees in flooded area south > of north parking lot. > Red-breasted Merganser 2 > Killdeer 1 > gull sp. 14 > Rock Pigeon 12 > Mourning Dove 3 > Red-bellied Woodpecker 1 > Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 3 > Downy Woodpecker 2 > Hairy Woodpecker 2 > Eastern Phoebe 2 > American Crow 2 > Tree Swallow 8 > Black-capped Chickadee 10 > White-breasted Nuthatch 5 > Brown Creeper 2 > Golden-crowned Kinglet 7 > Ruby-crowned Kinglet 3 > Eastern Bluebird 2 In sumac along Oak Leaf Trail near Kensington Blvd. > Hermit Thrush 2 > American Robin 193 Multiple large flocks were feeding with European > Starlings on soggy grass fields. > European Starling 45 Feeding on soggy fields with American Robins. > Yellow-rumped Warbler 5 > American Tree Sparrow 1 > Chipping Sparrow 1 > Fox Sparrow 4 > Song Sparrow 8 > Dark-eyed Junco 17 > Northern Cardinal 13 > Red-winged Blackbird 22 > Common Grackle 6 > Brown-headed Cowbird 7 > American Goldfinch 9 > House Sparrow 2 > > View this checklist online at > http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S13742735 > > This report was generated automatically by eBird v3 (http://ebird.org/wi) #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
