The summer tanager at the homemade peanutbutter feeder on the McCoy farm - is a female and looks exactly like the Western species in Sibleys - It has a noticable eye-ring and very large flesh-colored bill - general color of head nape and back is browish and the throat, breast, belly is yellowish - a little olive green on head and tail. Viewed last evening and this morning from inside the house at a distance of about 20 feet. Unfortunately I do not own a camera so no photo. The general location of the McCoy farm is a road going about a mile into a valley near the cornor of CTH F and McKenna Rd about 3 miles north of Blanchardville. If any one wants directions on how to see this bird (and hopefully photograph) call me at either 608 238-6039 or 608 444-4351.
