Hello everyone! I had a very successful and exciting trip to Eagle River
this past week. Also went to Porcupine Mountains State Park in Ontonago,
upper Michigan. Got my life BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER at the Presque Isle
River area, just at the entrance to the trail leading toward the waterfalls.
Very exciting find! In Eagle River I got my life Pine Warbler (we called it
right to us with a recording), Clay-colored Sparrow, and Least Flycatcher
(che-beck!). We got a few good looks at Blackburnian Warblers, which was a
goal for the trip. Overall, the trip exceeded our expectations. Thanks to
everyone for the suggestions on where to go!
