Would a pair of cranes kettle on thermals a la Broad Winged Hawks? I had a pair over my house near Lake Mendota in Madison on Sunday - high up and soaring higher, circling on thermals like broad-winged hawks. They went higher and higher until (I guessed) they caught the thermal they were waiting for and then they rode it forward at a pretty good clip until they vanished. Has anyone else ever observed this? Marge Anderson Dane (and Vilas) County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
