Hi everyone--
What looks like an important conference on wind power and its effect on birds 
and other migratory wildlife is now under way here in southeastern Wisconsin. 
The workshop, entitled "Assessing Risks to Migratory Wildlife from Wind Energy 
Development," started Wed., 17 June, and will run until Friday at the 
Wingspread Conference Center in Racine.

Ken Rosenberg and Andrew Farnsworth of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology gave a 
preview of the conference at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel Tuesday 
night. I attended and wrote up a summary of their remarks. You can read it on
