This morning before heading to work, I found about a half dozen RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS & (4) COMMON GRACKLES along Hwy Z north of Hwy 59 east of Palmyra. These birds were also present this past weekend. There is a farm and couple of residences (so there are also Starlings), plus a creek. Stopped there after a visit at nearby Stute Springs which was enjoyable as usual. Species found included many of the same birds seen during the Palmyra CBC: HERMIT THRUSH, N SHRIKE, G-C KINGLET, BROWN CREEPER, BELTED KINGFISHER, PURPLE FINCH, PINE SISKIN, WHITE-THR & SWAMP SPARROW. Didn't detect the White-winged Crossbills today, but some are almost certainly still zipping around those spruces!
