Yesterday, while birding in Kenosha County, I observed what I first assumed was a black vulture. It was soaring overhead but appeared to have white wing tips instead of silver. Underwings were black. Has anyone ever seen this on a black vulture? The wingtips appeared to have been dipped in white paint against the blue sky. Was this some weird color marking by a bander or do black vultures sometimes have white wing tips instead of silver? This was at Chiwaukee Prairie. Also so a mockingbird fly across in front of the car on Hwy. 32 just south of the pierhead.
