Hello Everyone, As an International Committeemember for the Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative, Iâm thrilled to presentthis invitation to participate in a Conservation Birding trip to the Osapeninsula Costa Rica. Please considerjoining us February 13-22, 2015 to see the amazing birdlife on the Osa. This Conservation Birding trip is a unique,beneficial, and fun way for an individual to travel to the tropics, observeamazing birds as well as other wildlife, and be actively involved inconservation by raising funds to further protect habitat for our featheredfriends. More than 55 neotropical migrants alsofound in Wisconsin winter on the Osa peninsula. This is the primary reason I have chosen to focus my efforts inassisting Osa Conservation raise funds to protect vital wintering habitats byextending the Corcovado-Matapalo Biological Corridor. I have visited the Osa severaltimes and can vouch for its uniqueness and importance to numerous species ofwildlifeâin particular the neotropical migrants, not to mention the stunningresident birds! Please see the attacheditinerary for details. The trip will benothing short of a spectacular experienceâwhere else can one see scarlet macawswhile eating breakfast!? As a participant of theConservation Birding trip, we hope that each individual will ask friends,family, and colleagues, to sponsor them to raise additional funds for OsaConservation. There is no expectationon raising $$$. Nonetheless, themore funds we raise, the more we can help protect critically importanthabitats. Donations are 100% tax deductible. Total cost is $1750 + $500 donation to Osa Conservation. Payment is as follows: non-refundable $500 deposit due Oct. 1, 2014(this will include in-country flight from Puerto Jimenez Airport to San Josè),balance of $1,250 due Dec. 1, 2014, and the $500 donation will be due on orbefore February 13, 2015. All food (includingreasonable amounts of beer and wine!) and lodging is included; internationalairfare to San Josè and gratuities are not included.
