Mixed day for the birds in the neighborhood today. It was a yardwork day, so the birding was done mostly in the backyard. Many different species visiting our yard and feeder station including American Goldfinch, Pine Siskin, Ruby Crowned Kinglet, Chimney Swifts (well, flying overhead), American Crow, Northern Cardinal, House Finch, House Sparrow (of course), Cooper's Hawk, among others. Managed to get a few photos of the Goldfinches and Siskins. The Siskins were feeding on the Nijer feeder in the shade, but the photos are still usable.

While eating dinner on the deck, had a small bird hit the rear door window - something that almost never happens - and bounce off flying (plastic window with some give). Right behind was a Cooper's Hawk or perhaps Sharp-shinned. They went around the corner of the house before we could follow. Not sure how the chase ended as both had vanished. While walking the dog, I heard a neighbor on his roof shouting to someone about "need to get rid of the birds". He was gone before I could get there to see what was happening but I suspect a nest was destroyed. I'm assuming House Sparrow but never got a chance to talk to him (this is not someone I know - new rental). Will keep an eye on this place and try to let them know they can contact us or someone else to take the birds.
