Hiked the Coulee Experimental Forest yesterday afternoon and was pleased to hear two ACADIAN FLYCATCHERS. Both were heard along the trail that connects the two portions of Russlan Coulee Road, one in the north valley and one in the south valley. The south valley also had two singing MOURNING WARBLERS and one WOOD THRUSH. VEERY and SCARLET TANAGER were heard throughout. The HOODED WARBLER that I heard there last month was not heard yesterday. Also last Tuesday at least 4 DICKCISSEL were on territory at the restored prairie around the refuge visitor center on Brice Prairie.
