Just a few more ways of deciphering Windows error messages:


Converting Numeric Error Messages to Text Messages in WinXP & Windows Server 
2003

Have you ever met a problem displaying an error message like ?Error 066?? You 
will want to know what these numeric error messages really mean under Windows 
XP and Windows Server 2003. 
Simply click Start>Run>type cmd to open the Command Console. The enter the 
following command:

C:\> net helpmsg ERROR_NUMBER

For example, enter this command:
net helpmsg 066
This command will display the following message (explanation):
The network resource type is not correct.
