Hi All,

Recently I've encountered problem, which I can't yet resolve by myself, so I
decided to ask a question in this mail-list.

There is a forest root domain. He is the only one in this forest.
Functional level of the forest - Windows 2000 forest. Functional level of the do
main - Windows Server 2003 Domain. There are 2 domain controllers with Windows S
erver 2003. Domain controllers don't have access to Internet.
During setting-up first domain controller it has been pointed to time
source which exists for a long time in our private network and Windows 2000 doma
ins worked fine with it. But Windows 2003 do not want or is not able to get time
from it and with a period of 2-6 hours tells that it can not receive correct in
formation from time source and that this source was unavailable during 8 retries
. But there is no problems with network interface on domain controller and on ti
me source server (Windows 2000 domains are able to get time from it normally and
 in time).
If someone have encountered such problem or know some special requirements of
Windows 2003 Server regarding time syncronization in a domain, please help or g
ive some links, I'll be thankful for this.

PS: Private time source in a local network is ntpd v. 4.1.1 on Linux

Best regards, Nick.
