[windows2000] lsass.exe

Hello all,
What is the lsass.exe? Reason for asking is that we have a win2k =
workstation that upon boot up the lsass.exe is hogging the cpu (100%). =
No other applications are open. Doesn't happen all of the time but =
enough to be annoying.
