[windows2000] Win2K > DC = 10.0.0.0?

Hello to all:
Through countless Domain Controller tests, building up DCs, tearing them
down, reformatting, rebuilding, etc, all from new MSDN media, 99% of the
time when Server becomes DC the IP address changes from the registered IP,
to, upon reboot into AD, a 10.x.y.x number which causes the OS to hang
waiting with "Preparing network connections..." just before the login prompt.
How do I avoid this?
