WTF was I thinking? My router is at 2.4 GHz and shouldn't be affecting the pager. My friend 2.4 GHz phone will screw-up his network though. -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Greg Reese Sent: July 7, 2004 11:04 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: Way OT: Question about pagers and routers What kind of wireless did you put in? 802.11b and G use the 2.4 ghz spectrum. 802.11a uses the 5ghz spectrum. so if you pager is not in that range, then the wireless Dlink should not be interfering with it. How is the page sent? If the server has a model and is doing the dialing etc itself, you may have line noise or something else going on. To test, pick up a phone and send a page and see what happens. Are these messages that are e-mailed to your pager at yournumber@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx? Are the messages being mailed in plain text (like this reply to your HTML message? ;P)? Your wireless router theory sure is interesting! That would be kinda funny. :] Ray at work ________________________________ From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bennett, Cameron Hi All, I have an odd question.as part of my job, I am required to wear a pager after hours at home and the last two pages that have come to me have been somewhat garbled. This typically has not happened in the past. The only thing that has changed at home is I recently put in a D-Link wireless router for my home network. What I am thinking is the pager sits at 921 MHz and I think the router is in the same range. Could this cause the problem? ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor StressedPuppy.com Games Feeling stressed out?
