[windows2000] Tape autoloader connection issues

This is pratically driving me mad.
We just bought a hp storageworks 1/8 autoloader, which we are trying to setup
on our backup server.
The autoloader comes with a 68pin lvd/se scsi connector, but we have a 50 pin
ultra 160 adaptec 29160n card on the server. We bought the necessary 68pin to
50 pin cable, but yet the autoloader hangs the server @ post. Any ideas???
