Thanks to those who responded. In the end, I had to give up because even the latest Dell bios on that machine can't handle SCSI and IDE hard drives simultaneously. I simply moved the new drive to an old underutilized server that behaves. It does mean that those backups are over the network, but I can live with that. tim -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sorin Srbu Sent: Tuesday, June 07, 2005 9:59 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: System hang copying GB files (2003) ----Original Message---- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Charles R. We do it to some degree too. ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: Straymonkey.com Excellent web templates, fonts, and downloads on this new site brought to you by The Kenzig Group http://www.straymonkey.com ********************************************************** To Unsubscribe, set digest or vacation mode or view archives use the below link. http://thethin.net/win2000list.cfm ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: Straymonkey.com Excellent web templates, fonts, and downloads on this new site brought to you by The Kenzig Group http://www.straymonkey.com ********************************************************** To Unsubscribe, set digest or vacation mode or view archives use the below link. http://thethin.net/win2000list.cfm
