You must delete the computer account from the domain. It sounds like the
account was not deleted when you removed it.

Subject: [windows2000] Server

I recently wanted to rebuild a Terminal server which was running NT and
install=20
2000. Not an upgrade but blow it away and start from scratch. I removed =
the=20
server from the domain (NT), synched the domain, waited an hour then =
tried
to=20
reinstall. Wanting to use the same IP and servername (we'll say =
Server1), I=20
tried installing as such, however it kept telling me that Server1 had a=20
different SID associated with it.=20

Why, if I removed the server from the domain, did I get that error =
message?
