We have had good luck with just about any HP scanner...

Have you thought to add the reg file import to a logon script? Reg
modifications are easy in VBScript, and obviously the users already have rights
to the section of the registry that they need to write to...

Just a suggestion,

Subject: [windows2000] Scanner working with win2kpro?

Hi all,

Our scsi old-timer scanner (Umax Astra 2200S) seems to have bought it...

I'd need some feedback on what usb2-scanners are good with win2kpro?

A dept I do parttime sysadmining for, bought a hp 3330-something-or-other w/o
consulting me, and my main concern is that software is ok. The software bundled
with this hp-scanner is
*not* multi-user aware (!!) [out-of-the-box only the locally logged-in
administrator can use the scanner!], resulting in that all users who login as
domain-users when they want to scan, first have to run a smal reg-file, setting
some keys, in order for the scanning to work...

This is a working but not ideal solution.

Does anybody know if this is a common trait with todays scanners?

Thx for any feedback.

BW,

Sorin
