Unless of course you switch to perl, at which point you'd be ridiculed for not properly understanding the default system. Overall though I'd agree with you, being more specific is usually a good thing, though I have to admin that as an admin (not a programmer) I tend to get lazy on any project that has less than a page of code. I'm trying to work on that habit, is there a 12 step program for people who learned to code back when gosubs were popular?
