You can go to Tools-Options-Other- Advanced Options and click the "warn
before permanently deleting items" box. Click OK. Put a check mark in
"Empty the deleted items folder upon exiting". This will notify him
before he closes Outlook if he has deleted any messages. Unfortunately
it will also delete his stuff if he saves thing in the Deleted items
folder.
You could always delete something, and tell him to always answer No when
it asks to empty the folder.
I know this is a work around, but it is the only way that I know.
Hope this helps.
Jeff.

Subject: [windows2000] Prompt when closing Outlook

Is there a way to get Outlook to ask if you are really sure that you
want to close the program? Request from silly mouse happy user (my
husband). His tech guys can't answer this one and I'm too busy to dig.
