I realize this. What I didn't realize is, if you sorted the folder in Explorer, it would sort in the Start Menu. I still haven't tested, but I just want to verify: If I have two separate Programs folders (as you mentioned) and I install a new program, it currently shows up at the bottom of the whole start menu. If I do what you suggested, when I install a new program, it will sort together with the other programs from that scope (i.e., either with all the rest of the "All Users" programs, or with the rest of the "my" programs)? If I seem incredulous, it is because I thought that there was not that kind of link between Explorer and the Start Menu... The ones in All Users Programs will display at the top of the menu and the ones from your profile Programs menu will display at the bottom. Unless you put all of the programs in one folder or the other the start programs folder will always be split up. You can resolve the split programs issue by cutting and pasting all of the icons in your profiles programs folder into the all users folder. Once in the directory sort it by name and then go over to Tools/Folder Options?View tab and set it to remember your settings for both of the Programs directories. I know you can simply right mouse click and select sort by name, but is there a way to do this automatically particulary after installing apps? Thanks in advance.
