Try SSD 6.4 or the just released 7. 6.4 has worked for us on DL380G3 series
servers,

Subject: [windows2000] Problems upgrading to 2003 on Proliant box

Hi Gang -

Here's what we are trying to do, and I need to know if any success
has been had. We have 6 dual-processor Compaq Proliant DL360s that we are
trying to put Windows Server 2003 on. When we run Smartstart 6.3, it tells
us that only versions up through 5.3 are supported. So we did that and
flashed the hardware to see if it would take SS 6.3. No dice. Smartstart
5.3 does not support Assisted Integration for Windows 2003, only Windows
2000. Tried Manual Install, that didn't work either. So we went through
the Windows 2000 installation thinking that we could upgrade it to 2003. We
installed a base version of Windows 2000 SP4 and tried to run the install.
When we did that, we get the following:

Compaq Network Teaming and Configuration Software
HP Proliant Advanced Systems Management Controller Driver
Fax Services

These are not compatible with Windows Server 2003.

When we try to continue past it, it kicks us right back out to the
install home page. Do we need to disable all of this, even though they are
not being used? Or is it more complicated than that. We're beginning to
think that Windows Server 2003 may not support the hardware, but it's Dual
Pentium III 800s and 128M of RAM (for now).

Our goal is to get a working image of 2003 so that we can put it up
on a RIS server to configure the other 5 DL360s.

Thanks so much!

Jennifer
