[windows2000] OT: USB Digital Camera connecting to F: Drive.

We have a number of XP Professional PC's, and a number of Sony Cypershot
Cameras. The situation we have is the PC's in question have drive letters C-E
used up for local drives/CD-Writers/etc and F and H used for network shares.

The problem is when the camera is connected to the USB port, it automatically
tries to connect it to F: drive, which as this is in use by the network drive
doesn't work. If you disconnect the network drive first is works fine. The
short-term solution was to setup a couple of batch files on the desktop; one
that disconnects the drive and another that reconnects it.

Some of the users are now complaining that this is too much of a pain,
specially when they want to download the images to the network drive in
question. They have to copy them locally, reconnect the share and move them
across, rather than copying them direct.

I have had a look and can't see how, or see if it even possible, to change it
so the camera automatially connects to the G: drive which is not used.

It is not an option to change the drive letter for the network share from F: as
this is company wide share that everyone has access to.

Thanks for any insight into this,
