[windows2000] Network confusion

Hello everyone!
Is it possible to collect all traffic that comes across a NIC without
assigning it an IP? What about having a machine with two network cards and
having it collect information from one card and forward it to the other
network as if it was not there. If it is possible, how could you do it?
