One NIC, multiple IP's. When I go out to the internet via IE, it works
sometimes and it doesn't work sometimes. On the firewall, I can see the
source address attempting to get out. Sometimes it is the first IP bound to
the NIC, sometimes it is the second.

What do you mean? When you are on the server using IE, you are seen as
having different IPs?

When you have multiple IPs on a single NIC in W2K, all outgoing requests are
made through the primary IP. You can't change that, iirc. So, if you go to
a site like www.showmyip.com, you should always see your primary IP. If you
don't, please let me know how you did this in W2K! I believe in 2003, there
is a way to control which IP is used for outgoing requests.

I have a W2K server running IIS5. This box has 3 IP addresses, one of which
I have opened up to the outside. If I open IE it will go out to the internet
sometimes, therefore I'm guessing that sometimes it happens to use the
address I opened up and sometimes it uses an address which I have not opened
up. My question, is there a way to force the server to use one IP address
when going out to the internet?
