[windows2000] Re: I cannot delete my printer

I just saw this Friday. AFTER unsuccessful attempts to print some documents, I tried deleting the printer WHILE the docs were still in the print queue. Apparently the pending docs have to be printed or deleted before the printer will go away (kinda understandable). I was able to successfully reinstall the printer (my goal anyway) and the documents came out fine. This may not be your desired outcome, however.

I would recommend reinstalling the printer, clearing the queue, THEN deleting it.

Richard

Subject: [windows2000] I cannot delete my printer

I am trying to delete a printer on my computer. It is a local printer and
is no longer attached to the PC. I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2. I
selected the printer in Printers and Faxes, and then tried to delete it.
That was 15 minutes ago. It is sitting there with the word "Deleting" after
the printer's name. I have both rebooted and restarted my PC, and it still
says that.

Why can't I delete the printer?

Rod
