This kind of stuff has been out for a while, both in third party apps and as XP power toys, iirc. The issue I had with all the apps I tried was that my taskbar button order was not remembered when switching among the desktops. :( This reminds me. The Windows taskbar has existed since Windows 95. The GUI introduced with Windows was real big on the drag-and-drop that you can do. Yet, here we are in 2008, and I still cannot drag a taskbar button over to a different spot in the taskbar! I think that mswish@xxxxxxxxxxxxx blocked me on 2/17/2001. ________________________________ From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Greg Reese Sent: Tue 9/2/2008 1:07 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: THIN Subject: [windows2000] Re: Download Pick: Desktops mac users, you know this app as "spaces". Nice to finally have it on Windows. Desktops allows you to organize your applications on up to four virtual desktops. Read email on one, browse the web on the second, and do work in your productivity software on the third, without the clutter of the windows you're not using. After you configure hotkeys for switching desktops, you can create and switch desktops either by clicking on the tray icon to open a desktop preview and switching window, or by using the hotkeys.
