Just go into DNS, and create a new "host" entry, title it WWW, and then point it at the IP address of your web site. It is 208.2.188.247, if you need that. Then, go around and re-point all of your clients to use the internal DNS servers for name resolution ONLY! I say that because, if your clients were able to get to the web site before the ISA server, then they were resolving the name somehow. And if the internal DNS server can't do it, they must have been speaking to one that could. Which is a huge no-no. Will creating an additional zone fix this or am I stuck because the faaerfcu.org zone still exists.... -----Original Message----- From: Bill Beckett [mailto:Bill.Beckett@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, September 15, 2003 2:26 PM To: 'windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [windows2000] Re: Can't access a website Right, basically your DNS server is saying "Hey I know faaerfcu.org, it's right here, I don't need to go out to the web to find it". -----Original Message----- From: Dennis Appelboom [mailto:dennis.appelboom@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday September 15, 2003 1:24 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: Can't access a website OK, I'm sure it has to do with your active directory name.....I didn't fully read the error, but on the bottom, it says that the isa server is called nj1proxy2.faaerfcu.org. That means that the AD domain is faaerfcu.org. Since that is the internal DNS name as well, it will not try to search for the external site faaerfcu.org. I now there are workarounds for this, but it would have been smarted to call your internal domain faaerfcu.local or something. Good luck, Dennis Appelboom marviQ -----Original Message----- From: Farrugia, Paul [mailto:pfarrugia@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: maandag 15 september 2003 19:09 To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Can't access a website Hi, We just set up an ISA server running windows 2k and AD. We have internet connectivity and can browse without any problems except that we cannot access our own home page. We do not house our web site. I can ping the site by IP address but cannot by its name. When trying to access the site we get the following error: The Web site cannot be found The Web site you are looking for is unavailable due to its identification configuration settings. _____ Please try the following: 1. Click the <javascript:location.reload()> Refresh button, or try again later. 2. If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. 3. Click the <javascript:history.back(1)> Back button to try another link. 11004 - Host not found Internet Security and Acceleration Server _____ Technical Information (for support personnel) 1. Im guessing it has something to do with DNS but im new to Active Directory and ISA and im all out of options Thanks, Paul.
