i've seen a lot of discussion lately about jaws under windows vista,
especially the 64 bit versions, and the apparrant lack of script
functionality inside of winamp.
I'm hoping this message helps to answer any questions people may have, and
if anyone has further concerns, and don't want to clutter the list with

the simple answer is this
The distributed copy of wa4jfw.dll that 99% of the jaws script
functionality in winamp relies on is not compiled for 64 bit windows.
Their's a couple of fixes for this that i see.
1. get a hold of the src for wa4jfw.dll and recompile for 64 bit windows.
Nobody seems to have this at all so we trash that idea out of hand.
2. rewrite the scripts using internal jaws scripting functions that
accomplish the same tasks as wa4jfw.dll.
This is a lot more feazable and i am in the process of doing this, but
it's not something that can be done over night.
I hope this helps answer the questions about jaws and winamp under 64 bit
operating systems.
