No it is a winamp problem and the way they are handling MSAA. If winamp runs without Jaws, It would have to be a Jaws or windows problem! Good luck finding that out! It sounds like something is corrupt! Why not install the latest version of winamp and put it into a folder of its own. run it without Jaws and see if that version is a problem? If that's the case you may have to repair Jaws and possibly windows. Just a suggestion. good luck! ----- Original Message ----- From: EVAN REESE <mailto:mentat3@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, August 21, 2008 3:34 PM Subject: Winamp Crashing When in Media Library Hello Listers, A friend of mine with partial vision is helping someone with their PC. He installed Windows XP, SP3, upgraded to the latest JAWS, version 9.0.2169 I think it is, and Winamp 5.5.41. Now, when he goes into the Local Media section of the Media Library and either single or double clicks on a file that Winamp is pointing to, he gets that "Winamp has encountered a problem and needs to close." message. He says that this is now happening with earlier versions of Winamp, at least back to version 5.53. He says that when JAWS isn't running, Winamp works just fine. Anyone heard of this kind of behavior before? Unfortunately, running Winamp without JAWS is not a viable option for the person who owns the computer because she has no vision.
