Hi, If any of you downloaded my updated scripts, please redownload them. Forgot to change the keyboard file to reflect the new keystroke change. http://members.optusnet.com.au/bnfiles/winamp4jfw.zip ftp://files:files@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/winamp4jfw.zip David T. -----Original Message----- From: winamp4theblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:winamp4theblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Truong Sent: Wednesday, 2 May 2007 7:52 AM To: winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Addendum to earlier message was: RE: Recommendation for Those who Want the Library Hi Again, If you go and redownload my Updated Winamp scripts using the following two urls: http://members.optusnet.com.au/bnfiles/winamp4jfw.zip ftp://files:files@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/winamp4jfw.zip Apart from modifying the code so the Winamp library reads better, I haveadded a feature where if you set the JumpToRelativeTime you can move through the audio file using your left and right arrow keys. This will move throughthe file by the value you put in the JumpToRelativeTime. Also, that JumpToRelativeTime script has now been moved to alt+j rather than its present keystroke of alt+Shift+j. E.G. you invoke JumpToRelativeTime with Alt+j, you type in 30 (for 30 seconds) and press enter, now if you press either the left or right arrow keys, you will move backwards through the audio file by 30 seconds or forward through the audio file by 30 seconds respectively. Jaws will announce the present time in your file as you go through the file as well whilst using your left or right arrow keys. Note this doesn't work in the Winamp Equaliser for obvious reasons. Again, the usual applies, Use at your own risk. Should work in jaws7 and 8.If you use these Winamp scripts, I take no responsibility for anything thathappens to your PC/laptop or any other variants. In other words, use atyour own risk. The only thing I will say is that the scripts work great onmy machine and on machines of a couple of other users who have used my modified Winamp scripts. Warmest Regards, Allan Wong 3M Technology ** If I said something wrong, please forgive me, as English is not my native, I'm sorry. From: "Bruce Toews" <dogriver@xxxxxxxx> I've done a little investigating on my own here. I truly want to help with respect to the library. It's not an issue I personally have an interest i, but it's important to enough people that I want to be a part of the solution. Someone's going to have to break down and get sighted assistance for this. First, register for the forums. You'll need sighted help here. Then send a private e-mail to one of the moderators of the tech support forum. Tha person likely isn't going to be able to help you directly, but you have to start somewhere. Very nicely, tell that person who you are and why you're writing. Tell them that the visual verification makes the forums inaccessible to us without sighted assistance, but that there's no other apparent way to contact the people in charge of the program. Tell the person, nicely, that there are still accessibility issues with the Winamplibrary, explaining that these accessibility issues make the Winamp library unusable for us. Don't just assume that your concepts are understood withoutexplanation. Don't be condescending either, of course. Ask ther person nicely if it would be possible for them to arrange for you to directly contact a developer, so you can help try to track down what theaccessibility problems are and how best to fix them. Emphasize that you wantto work with these people as part of the solution, not just complain about the problem. Whoever does this should be a techie, someone who knows whatblind people want from the Winamp library, and someone who knows how to talkthe computer language of the sighted. This is how things get done. No we can't directly contact a developer right now. But everyone has a chain of communication, and if we can access a link on the chain, we can eventually reach the end of it.
