Oddity With MP3 Pro Plug-in was: Re: Computer freezes when listening to 256 bit streaming in 5.05

Hi List,

While we're on the subject of the mp3 pro plug-in, I on occasion have had a
weird thing happen. I can be listening to a stream that is not MP3 Pro and
all of a sudden, the speed of the stream--and this can even be live
streaming--will slow down--just as if you had an old fashioned turn table
and you switched the speed from say 45 to 33 RPM. When I go to Winamp's
main window and check the title bar, it says something about mp3 pro plug-in
in the title of the stream--this--even though the stream is not MP3 pro. I
must exit the stream and then restart it.

This has happened about 4 times in the past 2 months or so. I listen to a
lot of streams, so this isn't a major problem at this time--unless it
increases in number of occurrences. Has anyone else experienced anything
like this?

Hi Robert, glad you could solve your problem, now as far as the MP3pro plug
in, one thing that I've never liked about it, is if there isn't a
broadcaster on the stream that you're connecting to, you'll get this
annoying dialog asking for a username and password, so that's why I don't
even have it installed. If this has been fixed in a later version, or if
there is a way to get rid of that dialog without totally uninstalling the
plugin, I'd like to know.
