Hi Bob

Sorry, I wasn't awake enough.  However, when I raised this on the Winamp 
forum, one of their support guys recommended that I try that, even when 
dealing with data CD playback.  Maybe he wasn't awake enough either, or 
maybe there's some general glitch with CD playback, or maybe he was just 
guessing, like me.  On this system, I get problems with audio CD 
playback and data CD playback, and I have no idea why.  I probably don't 
have enough overhead on this system.  Also, as someone else noted, the 
CD drive seems to spin up faster than you would think necessary, and 
there seems no way of controlling that.
