I don't know about the teams, but of course the main organiser of the
Dekra events, Heike Bunte, is on the list here. She is mainly taxed with
wind (recently) and measurement issues (last year) as well aas getting
obsevers, and pointed out to me that the bureaucracy involved in getting
any course is great. I examined the Dekra course as well as I could
without actually going there and it appears suitable for records under
both old and new rules, but the timing section or direction of runs
might not be at the same place.
...or more significantly at Battle Mountain(BM)?
I corresponded with Paolo Baldiseri, who leads a university team. He is
more concernen with attracting students and funding and says this is
easier for the exotic Nevada location than Europe.
If not, have they been contacted about this matter or at
least do they know that this is discussed right now?

the same amount of efforts and $$$ for a record which would be way below
the target established at BM.
Well the first 200m "pure human power" records would be very easy as
there not yet any.
Therefore we would end up with a much
fairer rule for the 200m (that's what I personally think about the
changes proposed) but no one to make attempt at it.
This may well be so. It's not the record or its scientific meaning which
is attractive, but its aura. The very name "Battle Mountain" suggests
grandeur as does the nearby "Bonneville" for motor racers.
